and in response, she stopped mid-stride.  put her hat back on lop-sided while those silly frames slid down her nose.  the rain started pouring down on her head, splattering her frames and staining her satin eyes.  she cried black tears of mascara and stood beautifully, even while standing in mud.

"funny how grand we think a life.  momentary and fleeting and at best, a flash of light in this expanse.  the expanse is life, is the air we breathe, is the somnambulant and we are the beating heart keeping it alive.  that  blasted being.  ...until we die off, one day.  one day he will finally die, will put his beaten head down to rest, finally rest, when the air is still and the earth inhales taking us all away."




It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter, because you can invent things.

But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.
